ICS-VDL 100
Overview
Integrated Control System is the Gefran solution for passengers and freight elevators suitable for medium and high rise buildings powered by geared or gearless motors. The system integrates the lift controller card in the drive, that in the standard approach is done with an external controller.
A complete Plug & Play solution
In order to provide a complete plug & play solution, the ICS system integrates an additional card aimed to control the car’s accessories (Fan, Lights, doors, Voice Synthesizer) named CAR ROOF, and a card named CAR OPERATOR PANEL that is installed in the car to register the call booking and additional functions that require to be controlled from the car (e.g. Firemen Operation). Different types of display can be selected from the catalogue both for car (CAR DISPLAY) and in the hall floors (FLOOR DISPLAY).
Whenever it is requested to provide a plug & play solution encompassing the most important control parts of the elevator, the ICS designed by Gefran is the most appropriate solution. The different parts composing the system are designed and manufactured to guarantee the full integration, being synonymous of high performance and at the same time the overall simplicity of the product.
Certified to work in according to the main normative of the lift sector, the system is designed following the most advanced control algorithm and manufactured by the best technology available in the market.
The system is certified following the current safety normative and it has been designed according the European EN81-1 and the EMC normative.
Integrated Control Systems Components
- ICS-VDL100: it is the control unit capable to integrated the Lift control card and the drive functions. It is composed of three main sections:
- Lift Control Card: it is the lift controller, to this card are demanded all the lift control functions
- Regulation Card: this card is the control card for the inverter. To this card are demanded all the functions to manage the ramps, the distances, the motor data, the encoder data the gains for the PID controller
- Power Card:to this card is demanded the power supply of the motor. This section is able to feed the right current and the required overload.
ICS-CR (Integrated Control System Car Roof): it is positioned in a cabinet on the car roof. To this card are demanded all the function to control the different components of the car (light, fans, doors etc..)
CS-COP (Integrated Control System Car Operator Panel): this card is positioned inside the car behind the push button array. To this card is demanded the function to collect the command coming from the push button (e.g. call booking) or special command like (firemen key). Up to 3 ICS-COP in a cascade configuration can be connected.
ICS-CD (Integrated Control System Car Display): this is the display inside the Car. Floor indication, direction, overload etc… are shown. It is possible to select the car display based on the wished technology (e.g. LCD, TFT). The communication with the ICS-CR can be via CAN or RS485.
Communication
A key aspect of such innovative approach is the communication among the different parts of the system. The communication must be efficient even in case of high rise buildings and easy to install and maintain.
An advanced logic control
The Integrated Control System is designed to work for simplex configuration (one single car), duplex configuration (two elevators synchronized) and a group configuration (up 8 synchronized elevators) where all the elevators part of the group are logically controlled by a centralized virtual control (CAN master) that perform the synchronization between the different elevators by a dedicated CAN Channel (CAN 2).
